New Clue Changes What We Know About the Flydubai Hijacking
0:00 All right, friends, there are significant updates to that fly-Dubai hijacking. I guess that's what we're calling it at this point over in the Middle East. You recall just a couple of days ago, the co-pilot attacked the captain
2:52 All right, kind of bad amateur video here. She peeks up above the seat here for a second. Stop it right there, OK? You see a curtain between first class and the main part of the cabin. And you see some light coming in through the windows and so forth. That's…
5:29 All right, here is the switch right here. And right there, that red guarded switch on the left that says on arm and off. All right, it's armed. It's in the armed position right now. And that's the way we fly around with it most of the time. It's armed in case
8:03 Yeah, in theory, they could have. How? How could they have done that? It goes back to why this aircraft is in a positive G situation as it's descending at like 17,000 feet or more per minute. Here's a typical commercial airplane. And this is not a 737, but…
10:31 Once that happens, you run the risk of flaming out both engines. If both engines flame out, both generators stop and the emergency evacuation lights come on. So that explains two things at once. How could there be a positive G situation in the back of the…
13:34 You just had a dual engine failure. What's your memory items? And I would say to him, both fuel control switches to cut off and back to run. There's a little note underneath of that in the instructions that say do it in about one second. Now, you don't have…
16:29 Both engines flamed out. Either way, the pilots, the replacement pilots, they got up in the seat that quickly.
19:07 Wow. This is amazing. This is like a movie already, at least a book. And so I can't wait to hear from them. Hopefully we'll get some reports for you in the days to come. But this is the dramatic now new update. I believe, and others are agreeing with me on…
