Inside The Making Of A Fighter Pilot
0:09 NGIPT, as you all know, is the EuroNATO Joint Jet Pilot Training and I would call it the factory of jet pilots.
4:15 I learn things every day from the allies and partners in this group. Different perspectives, different ways of doing things, and we pick and choose what we like, that each nation brings a strength, and that's what makes NGIP unique.
7:21 Becoming a fighter pilot is more than just flying a jet. You need to become a warrior. And this is something you really need to show during the training. If the instructors are not convinced that you are the future wingman of them, you will have problems and…
10:18 Coming back into this building that has been around for decades and it didn't really change a lot since I was here as a student. You still have that feeling of being the student and having kind of like that all eyes on you pressure to perform. Obviously that…
13:33 Furthermore, the Typhoon is way easier to fly. It has no flap lever. You throw the gear down, it throws down flaps whenever it seems necessary to do so. T-38, you still do that all-handish. The pilot really learns how to fly.
16:21 It is a lot of hard work for the students in the beginning. Fun really starts with formation flying when there's less books to go through, less to study, and more kind of like hand-ish requirements, so to say, that they have.
19:50 And then realizing your way of thinking may not always be right. That ability to critically think and question what's going on, I think is just a phenomenal life skill that they will gain as they continue to grow and progress in their careers.
23:09 Don't listen to the naysayers. There's always somebody who will tell you you're not going to reach your goal. Go out there, try it. Nobody has ever regretted trying their best. And later on, the biggest regression you can have is not having tried.
