Inside the Blackwing Factory | How Our Aircraft Are Built
0:05 Welcome to Blackwing. My name is Niklas Anderberg and I'm the founder and the CEO of Blackwing. Here at Blackwing, we try to build the best airplane in the world in this class. And this is by using the most sophisticated material available, but also modern…
3:17 because the other companies normally use this material in flat surfaces because it's more easy to apply. But here we challenge it, and we apply it in this beautiful piece. See, to apply this material here over the mold, it takes a little patience. So we had…
6:15 Here it's the raw material. We go to the grinding room. It's in here, and then they are cut to the correct size. We also drill all the holes and prepare them for bonding. After the parts are cut, they are checked and weighed on this scale. This is our quality…
9:46 The plane part itself is specially fitted to the plane. They get a number from this point on and it's for a customer from here. As you can see, everything weighs absolutely nothing but is incredibly strong.
12:44 Also, I did not want a footstep, so to be able to get into the airplane, we integrated the footstep in the flap, which is working really good. It's designed for 150 kilos.
15:41 We have an autopilot in it and an audio panel also to get a really nice sound in the headset. Of course a radio transponder as normal. And the backup system also with the Garmin G5. And the whole Avionics also have a backup system with a backup battery. If…
18:43 that nothing is chafing and that it's safe for flight. My name is Maria. I work here at Blackwing. My role is to work with sales, marketing and after sales. So it's a big area and I'm only one person because we're still a small company. So we do our best…
21:46 So the goal with the airplane was to have no wing drop stall characteristics but also good aerodynamics and I think we succeeded really well on both of those criterias. You can use the airplane, take off and land in 150 meters, you can cruise at 200 knots and…
