EPST Questions Please.

Hello People,
To introduce, my name is Nancy and I am hoping to apply to EPST for their pilot training at either Oxford or Danfly.
I have a few questions if anyone can help as I have already browsed the forums with google translator but having little luck.
With regards to Compass Test, I understand you are marked out of 7 for each excercise. Do you have to still score a certain amount in each task? Say if you scored 5/7 for control, 5/7 for math and only 1/8 on orientation then what would be to happen.
Also, what score must you score on compass test overall?
If anyone can help that would be great. :)

Sierra Tango· 22 febJust try to make all of them above average. The total score is 42, and above 24 (or so, Im not sure if this is correct) you pass the COMPASS. But I can tell you this, dont be happy with a low score, even if you are through this first phase they can (probably will) look at your COMPASS score at the and of the simulator phase.
* If you have a low/average (24+) COMPASS score and you did the sim session not so well, you are OUT
* If you have a low/average (24+) COMPASS score and you did the sim session very well, you are IN
* If you have a high COMPASS score and you did the sim session not so well, you'll get a second chance for the sim session!
So maximize you chances by doing all the selection phases very well.

When it is happend that you're sim session was not going well, and you have for example an COMPASS score of 30 (with 1 of the 6 tests, for example, an 2 for math and the other one's 5 or above) are you than out? Even if you do the maths test for Phase 2 good?

Hi nancy,
The passmark for the compasstest is 24 marks out of 6 subjects. Maximum achievable is 42 marks. I'm not absolutely sure, but as far as I remember it's allowed to score a 3 on a subject as long as you still reach 24 marks or more by scoring a 5 for example on an other subject. 1 or 2 is a fail. If this happens on 1 subject you can get a seconds chance.
During my selection there was someone with a 1 on a subject. He managed to reach a passmark of over 24 and only had to take a resit for that single subject during fase 2 of the selection. He passed on this second chance. Getting a 1 is almost impossible, it just means you didn't had a clue what to do in that specific exercise.
Just go for it and see what happens. Try to score as high as possible, because your results will be looked at after fase 3 in making their final decision. Make sure you're fit.

Try and practice with the IPAS tests on www.epst.com. It's kind of hidden in the website, so you might want to use Google. IPAS is a free online COMPASS preparation tool and gives you an idea of how you would score.
